GABRIELL "GABBY" DANYETTA REED

August 17, 1985 - June 26, 2004

Gabriell was the only daughter of Janice Reed and Carlton Reed and sister to Carlton Arnette Reed II. She graduated with honors in 2003 from Biloxi High School, Biloxi, Mississippi. Gabrielle played the clarinet and the french horn in the Biloxi High School band; she was also a flag girl. She attended the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College here on the Gulf Coast. She was taking courses to become a lawyer (Criminal or Corporate Law).

Gabriell had just been accepted to the Army and she was an Assistant in the Americorps Tutoring program with her brother Carlton. She loved to sing and participate in all sorts of activities. Gabriell was a people person who loved being helpful to anyone who needed her.

Before she left for Army bootcamp she planned on spending a week with her “boyfriend” Rotheleo Dixon, but he had a different plan. Rotheleo was standing by a BBQ grill, as Gabriell came closer to have a look, he doused her with lighter fluid. She spent 20 days in the hospital’s burn center in excruciating pain. She earned her angel wings on June 26, 2004. Rotheleo was charged with murder and given a life sentence for his crime.

“Although my daughter Gabriell is no longer with us here on earth, I know that she is in God’s hands. Love you Yah Yetta.” - Written by Janice Reed (Gabriell’s Mother)
